A lighter majority requirement helped the Webb City R-7 School District get a $5 million bond issue approved by voters.
According to complete but unofficial returns from Jasper County, 60.5 percent of voters approved of the bond issue, which will finance a new library for the high school and other projects.
A majority of 57.1 percent was needed for approval. 1,316 voters approved of the issue, 859 voted against it.
