April 08, 2008 08:54 pm

Advanced ballots returned on a $6.1 million school bond issue in Pittsburg show voters rejecting the motion, according to the Crawford County Clerk’s office.
The clerks office reported 249 no votes on the issue, which if approved would add 25 classrooms to Pittsburg’s four elementary schools, and 201 yes votes.
Results are not available for Pittsburg’s four wards. A simple majority is required to pass a school bond issue in Kansas.
