With respect to the story on the front page (Globe, Jan. 29) regarding Kelly Maddy’s petition to put the decriminalization of marijuana to a vote, one need look no further than page 3A (“Jury finds man guilty”) to see exactly why this is a preposterous notion.

No one in command of their thinking processes would fail to see the connection between pot and the eventual moving on to harder drugs. It’s all about avoiding reality. Get a job, grow up, get a life, and quit looking for a way to avoid responsibility.
