BRANSON, Mo. —
Roller coaster enthusiasts from across the country came to Silver Dollar City Thursday for the announcement of Outlaw Run, a one of a kind ride that will open in Spring 2013.
A highly guarded secret until Thursday, the $10 million attraction will feature the world’s steepest drop on a wood coaster, at more than 16 stories, a 162 feet and 81 degrees — nearly vertical. It also will be the world’s only wood coaster to twist upside down, with a record-breaking double-barrel roll.
Builders say it will reach a top speed of 68 mph, making it the world’s fastest wood coaster on steel wheels. Riders can expect weightlessness at nine locations.
