JOPLIN, Mo. — The Michael Dyer rumor mill hasn't slowed at all and both ends of the spectrum are well represented.
But Luke Matheson (https://twitter.com/LukeMatheson), a rivals.com writer covering Arkansas State and Arkansas preps, has tweeted that ASU's scheduled 1 p.m. Friday press conference will include both head coach Gus Malzahn AND Dyer. Matheson also says that he has talked to ASU coaches and that they have confirmed Dyer is staying put.
If Dyer is scheduled to be at the presser, it's almost a given that he is, in fact, staying with the Red Wolves.
He is, however, a college student and this is the age of ever-changing news.
This much is clear: Until Dyer or a coach from either school openly speaks, the speculation will run rampant.
And this much has to be said: the information coming out of Arkansas State is at least coming from the school, which has confirmed the press conference and its participants. Every report coming from the Pitt State side cites "sources" or "someone close to the program."
There has yet to be any official word from the Gorillas.
