National signing day arrives Wednesday, but the buzz has been loud for weeks.
Mizzou fans were hit with a healthy dose of hope on Monday when the Tulsa World’s John Hoover reported that Dorial Green-Beckham -- the nation’s top-rated receiver -- will choose to play for the Tigers.
Green-Beckham, you’ll remember, made two stops in Joplin last season -- first for the season opener against Seneca that was broadcast on ESPNU and then again for Joplin High’s emotional hope opener.
Locally, Pittsburg State is making a splash with early commitments, especially at quarterback.
The Gorillas have gotten verbal commitments from a pair of three-star Tulsa-area quarterbacks -- Sand Springs’ Darak Hargar and Beggs’ Ramsey Hamilton.
ESPN lists Hargar as a pro-style quarterback while Hamilton is a dual-threat signal-caller, more along the lines of Zac Dickey.
Hamilton, however, is expected to keep his options open in case a DI offer materializes.
We'll have full coverage of Pittsburg State and Missouri Southern signings in Thursday's Globe.
