Search warrant served in Joplin in connection with bodies found in New Mexico

JOPLIN, Mo. — A search warrant has been executed this morning at 411 Main St. in Joplin in conjunction with the discovery of bodies in Albuquerque, N.M., according to Nadine Hamby, spokesperson for the Albuquerque Police Department.

Officers from the Albuquerque and Joplin, Mo., police departments are on the scene, as are members of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Hamby would not provide any details other than to say it is a sealed search warrant being served in connection to a cache of bones that were found on the West Mesa there in February 2009. The remains of 12 women and one fetus were later identified from the site.

"The only thing I can tell you is that anytime we receive any kind of information, we exhaust it," Hamby said.
