Bomb threat closes courthouse
The Cherokee County Courthouse in Columbus, Kan., has been evacuated and closed for the remainder of the day after a bomb threat was received this morning.
The threat was phoned in at 9:25 a.m. just as hearings concluded this morning for Riverton teens charged with felony incitement to riot and felony criminal threat in the alleged school-shooting plot at Riverton High School.

Jane Cage named Joplin’s Citizen of the Year
Jane Cage, a longtime Joplin businesswoman who led the Citizens Advisory Recovery Team in its creation of a tornado recovery plan for Joplin, was recognized as the “Outstanding Citizen of the Year’’ during tonight’s annual banquet of the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce.

LISTS OF TORNADO FATALITY VICTIMS
The Missouri Department of Public Safety at 9 p.m. Friday released via its website the names of 31 of the people who lost their lives in the May 22 tornado in Joplin.

Search warrant served in Joplin in connection with bodies found in New Mexico
A search warrant has been executed this morning at 411 Main St. in Joplin in conjunction with the discovery of bodies in Albuquerque, N.M., according to Nadine Hamby, spokesperson for the Albuquerque Police Department.
