Nine people are dead in an accident on the Will Rogers Turnpike near the Oklahoma and Kansas border. Oklahoma State Highway Patrol Lt. George Brown said he didn’t expect any further fatalities from the afternoon accident.
The dead include eight adults and one child, Brown said.
The accident occurred when an eastbound tractor-trailer struck at full speed vehicles stopped on the turnpike for a previous accident.
Both lanes of the Turnpike were open just before 9 p.m., Brown said.
