Two drivers hurt in traffic accidents on roads in area

A Neosho man was injured in a motorcycle accident at 12:53 p.m. Monday on Missouri Highway 76, five miles north of Shell Knob in Barry County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

William G. McMahan, 21, was taken to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, the state patrol said.

McMahan was riding a westbound motorcycle that crossed the centerline and overturned on the highway, throwing him from the bike, the patrol said.

• A Seneca woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 9:26 a.m. Friday on Highway 43 South at Dakota Lane near the Petro truck stop, according to a Joplin Police Department report.

Shirley J. Osborn, 74, was taken to Freeman Hospital West, the report said.

Osborn was driving a northbound car that was struck in the rear by a northbound car driven by Robin J. Cearnal, 66, of Seneca, the report said.
