Two Kansas men facing charges after drug raids

GALENA, Kan. — Two men are facing felony drug charges after searches of their residences in Galena by police and sheriff’s deputies.

Richard Lansaw, 54, and Robert W. Jackson, 53, were being held without bond Thursday at the Cherokee County Jail in Columbus.

Both are charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of precursor chemicals with intent to manufacture meth, possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a news release from the Cherokee County sheriff’s office. Jackson also is charged with possession of marijuana.

Sheriff’s deputies, Galena police and the Southeast Kansas Drug Enforcement Task Force served a search warrant about 4 p.m. Wednesday at Lansaw’s home at 910 N. Columbus Ave. and turned up an alleged meth-making operation with finished product.

Lansaw was spotted pulling into Jackson’s driveway at 803 N. Columbus Ave. while the search was in progress at his home a block away. Lansaw was taken into custody while Jackson, a passenger in Lansaw’s vehicle, was questioned by investigators and a second search warrant was obtained for his residence.
