An 18-year-old Webb City man was killed and five other people injured in a single-vehicle accident at 3:43 p.m. Tuesday on Route EE at U.S. Highway 71 in Pineville, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The driver of the car, Cody J. Miller, was pronounced dead at the scene by the McDonald County coroner, the state patrol said.

One of the passengers in the vehicle, Dakota R. Osborn, 19, of Carl Junction, was flown by medical helicopter to Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark. Another occupant, William J. Moore, 22, of Baxter Springs, Kan., was taken by ambulance to Northwest Regional Medical center in Bentonville, Ark.

Three passengers, Cory P. Miller, 17, of Webb City; Austin L. Osborn, 17, of Carl Junction; and Austin C. Webb, 17, of Joplin, were taken by ambulance to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin.

The state patrol said their southbound car failed to stop at the intersection and struck a rock bluff.
