The beating and robbery of a man over the weekend remains under investigation by Joplin police.

Officer Michael Gayman said a 41-year-old man reported to police on Monday that he had been beaten and robbed by two male acquaintances early Saturday morning. The victim was in a vehicle with the two men at the time and was uncertain of the exact location, but they dropped him off outside of Joplin on Fountain Road after taking about $500 from him, he told police.

Gayman said the report remained under investigation Tuesday.
