Armed robber kicks in door, runs with purse

MULBERRY, Kan. — A 66-year-old woman reported that she was robbed Tuesday night by a man with a handgun who kicked in the back door of her home near Mulberry, according to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department.

The sheriff’s office said in a news release that deputies were notified about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday of the crime on East 670th Street.

The woman said the man kicked in her back door, took her purse and fled. The victim described the man as being in his early 40s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing about 130 pounds, with a thin build, black hair and a goatee. She said he was shirtless and had numerous tattoos on his chest, stomach, arms and back, the sheriff’s office said.

The woman was not physically harmed in the incident, the sheriff’s office said.
