Man declines cut treatment; woman charged

An 18-year-old woman was arrested and charged with felony assault in connection with the stabbing of a man early Thursday morning in Joplin.

Cpl. Chuck Niess of the Joplin Police Department said officers called to 2000 block of South Empire Avenue at 2:52 a.m. located Tre D. Thomas, 20, 1827 W. Second St., with a stab wound near his collar bone.

Niess said Thomas refused medical assistance and told officers he did not wish to press charges, but Kelsey R. Steere, who lives at the address, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault.
