Five face charges after drug raid in Newton County

Five people are facing felony drug charges as a consequence of a search warrant served Thursday at 3369 Greenwood Drive by Newton County sheriff’s deputies.

Deputies seized several grams of methamphetamine, some marijuana and drug paraphernalia during a 5:30 p.m. raid of the address and took six people into custody. Five of the suspects were charged by the Newton County prosecutor’s office on Friday.

Ricky D. Russell, 56, who resides at the address, was charged with distribution of methamphetamine. A second occupant, Robbin L. Baldwin, 52, was charged with felony possession of the drug.

Also charged with possession of methamphetamine were Elizabeth A. Patton, 47, and Amanda D. Consolver, 31, both of Joplin, and Shawn E. Moore, 51, of Quapaw, Okla. A second count of  second-degree assault on a law enforcement officer was filed on Moore.
