Fires damage Miami house, shed; injuries cited

MIAMI, Okla. — Miami firefighters had to split up Wednesday night when a fire broke out in a shed as they were battling a house fire at another address.

Firefighter Tyler Bullard said the first fire, on D Street Northeast, was reported at 5:30 p.m. Heavy smoke was coming from the single-story house owned by Charles Peterson as firefighters arrived, Bullard said.

He said a second call at 5:45 p.m. reported a shed on fire behind a residence in the 2400 block of Molly Lane Northeast, and some firefighters had leave the first fire to go to the second.

The two fires caused extensive damage to the house and shed, but no injuries were reported. The causes of the fires remained undetermined Thursday, Bullard said.
