Update: Wentworth man charged with receiving stolen property

NEOSHO, Mo. — A Wentworth man was charged Wednesday in Newton County Circuit Court with five felony counts of receiving stolen property after a search warrant was served Tuesday at his residence.

Garrett Falls, 41, of Wentworth, was arrested Tuesday. He remained in the Newton County Jail on Wednesday, in lieu of $200,000 bond.

An investigation into stolen property by the Newton County Sheriff's Office, the Barry County Sheriff's Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol has been conducted over the past few weeks, resulting in a search warrant being served Tuesday at Falls' residence on Main Street in Wentworth. Authorities confiscated what has been identified as alleged stolen property including a drag race car, a backhoe, two trucks, three motorcycles, six flatbed trailers, several firearms and construction equipment. Suspected methamphetamine and marijuana also were found.

The Newton County Sheriff's Department is seeking charges of receiving stolen property, drug possession, felon in possession of a firearm, and non-payment of child support.
