Webb City man faces charge in weapon case

A Webb City man is facing a felony weapon charge after Joplin police reportedly found a loaded handgun under the driver’s seat of his vehicle.

Joshua A. Allen, 26, was stopped by an officer Sunday near Seventh Street and Murphy Boulevard.

Police Cpl. Chuck Niess said Allen was placed under arrest when the gun was found in the car. Allen has a prior felony drug conviction and is prohibited from having a gun in his possession, Niess said. He was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.
