Washburn man hurt in accident near Butterfield

A Washburn man was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 8:50 p.m. Thursday on Farm Road 2130, a mile east of Butterfield in Barry County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Herman Tilford, 50, a passenger in a car driven by Bobby Scott, 35, of Butterfield, sustained serious injuries. He was transported to Cox Medical Center South at Springfield. The driver was not injured.

The patrol said the eastbound car ran off the road, struck an embankment and overturned.

• A woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident at her residence at 4:25 p.m. Thursday on Saginaw Road in Newton County, the patrol said.

Karen A. Cathey, 60, sustained serious injuries when she stopped her pickup to close a gate. The eastbound vehicle rolled and struck her. She was taken by ambulance to Freeman Hospital West, Joplin.

• Two people were injured in a one-vehicle accident at 6:25 p.m. Wednesday on Missouri Highway 39, one mile north of Miller in Lawrence County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Lindsay R. Gillmore, 33, of Greenfield, driver of the car, sustained minor injuries. A passenger, Brittany A. Delashmet, 24, of Greenfield, sustained moderate injuries. They were transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Springfield.

The patrol said Gillmore, who was going south, ran off the left side of the road and struck a utility pole.
