Arkansas teens injured in accident in McDonald County


— Two Pea Ridge, Ark., teens were injured about 5 p.m. Friday in a pickup truck accident on Songbird Road, 14 miles east of Pineville in McDonald County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Elizabeth A. Jackson, 15, and Keirsten K. Jackson, 14, were taken to Northwest Arkansas Regional Medical Center by private vehicle, a patrol report stated. They were passengers in a southbound pickup truck driven by Aaron T. Jackson, 17.

The patrol said the truck ran off the road and overturned.

• Two Carterville residents were injured in a traffic accident just before noon Friday on County Road 2140, five miles west of Stotts City in Lawrence County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Ivan E. Hussong, 38, driver of the vehicle, and Penny L. Wilson, 39, went to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin.

A patrol report said the accident occurred when Hussong lost control of the eastbound vehicle as it came around a corner.

• An Edna woman was injured at 3:15 p.m. Thursday in a two-vehicle accident at U.S. Highway 160 at Kansas Highway 101 in Labette County, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Alice Barnett, 51, of Edna, one of the drivers, was injured and taken to a hospital in Parsons.

The patrol report said the Barnett vehicle was headed west on U.S. Highway 160 and a vehicle driven by Travis Decocq, 36, of Galena, was headed east. The Barnett vehicle attempted a left turn onto Kansas Highway 101 when the vehicles collided.
