JOPLIN, MO —
A Joplin man died of injuries he suffered Thursday afternoon when his motorcycle was struck by a vehicle on Hearnes Boulevard at 44th Street, according to Joplin police.
Jon E. Moore, 38, was taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Joplin and subsequently pronounced dead, police said.
Moore was riding a southbound motorcycle that was struck by a car whose driver failed to yield at the intersection, according to a police statement. The accident remained under investigation Friday, and police had yet to release the name of the driver of the car.
Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 3:30 p.m. Thursday on U.S. Highway 54, three miles west of Nevada in Vernon County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Both drivers involved, Robert F. Garrison, 67, of Nevada, and Lane T. Allmond, 15, of Deerfield, and a passenger in Allmond’s pickup truck, Jessica L. Allmond, 18, also of Deerfield, were taken to Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada, the state patrol said.
Garrison was driving a southbound vehicle and pulled into the path of Allmond’s eastbound truck, the patrol said.
A Joplin man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 6:57 p.m. Thursday on Missouri Highway 86, three miles south of Joplin in Newton County, the state patrol said.
Christopher W. Kinslow, 38, was taken by ambulance to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the patrol said.
Kinslow’s westbound car ran off the road and into a ditch, the patrol said.
