Neosho woman reports rape

A 20-year-old woman from Neosho reported that she was raped by a male acquaintance late Friday night or early Saturday morning at a Joplin home.

Joplin police Lt. Brian Lewis said the woman sought treatment at Freeman Hospital West, and the rape was reported to police. The woman told police that she was visiting the residence in Joplin when the sexual assault took place.

Lewis said the matter remained under investigation Monday without an arrest having been made.
