Two charged after warrants served at homes

Two Jasper County men face drug charges after search warrants were served Tuesday and Wednesday by the Jasper County Drug Task Force.

A Neck City man has been charged with possession of a controlled substance after his arrest Tuesday. Richard L. Prins Jr., 46, was arrested at his home in Neck City after authorities served a search warrant. The charge was filed Wednesday, and bond was set at $5,000.

A search of the location produced suspected methamphetamine and chemicals used in the manufacture of meth, according to a release from the drug task force. The warrant was served by the Jasper County sheriff’s special weapons and tactics team.

The task force served another search warrant Wednesday at the home of Clifford Young at 307 W. C St. in Joplin.

Young, 44, was arrested after a search turned up suspected meth, according to a task force release. Young was charged Thursday with possession of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $3,500.

The drug task force is composed of sheriff’s deputies, and members of the Joplin and Webb City police departments.
