Three injured in traffic accident at Joplin intersection



Three people were injured in a three-vehicle accident at 1:59 p.m. Saturday on Range Line Road at 20th Street, according to a Joplin Police Department report.

One of the drivers, Karen R. Bird, 49, of Joplin, and her passenger, Katie L. Bird, 16, and a passenger in another vehicle, Chelsey R. Dushane, 13, of Fairland, Okla., were taken to unspecified hospitals for treatment of injuries, the report said.

Mary L. Dushane, 40, of Fairland, and Karen Bird were driving northbound vehicles that were stopped for traffic when a third northbound vehicle driven by Sherryl A. Steele, 22, of Joplin, ran into Bird’s vehicle from behind and pushed it into the rear of Dushane’s vehicle, the report said.
