Windows stolen from job site in storm zone

By Mike Pound

Joplin police are investigating the theft of seven windows from a project house under construction in a neighborhood of the area ravaged by the May 2011 tornado.

The windows — valued at $1,135 — were stolen overnight Monday from a house under construction at 2201 S. Harlem Ave.

Police Cpl. Chuck Niess said the home was being built as a joint project of Rebuild Joplin and Catholic Charities organizations. He said the windows were being kept inside the house pending installation.
