Webb City man draws charge of sodomy

A Webb City man was charged Friday in Jasper County Circuit Court with first-degree statutory sodomy.

Steven Dale Thurston, 55, 4445 Peak Drive, who was arrested at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, is accused of inappropriately touching a 4-year-old girl, according to a statement of probable cause.

The statement said the girl identified Thurston in a forensic interview. She alleges he touched her five times, with the last time being sometime between June 2 and June 30.

It was not clear Friday whether Thurston remained in custody or had been released on bond.
