Carthage woman hurt in accident west of Avilla

A Carthage woman was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 7:10 a.m. Monday on Missouri Highway 96, a mile west of Avilla in Jasper County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Lacei D. Quincy, 19, was taken to Mercy McCune-Brooks Hospital in Carthage, the patrol said.

She was driving a westbound pickup truck that ran off the road, struck a ditch and a fence, and overturned, the patrol said.

• A Sarcoxie man was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 9:40 p.m. Sunday on County Road 32 in Jasper County, the state patrol said.

Joshua M. Harbaugh, 19, was taken by ambulance to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the patrol said.

Harbaugh was a passenger in a northbound van driven by Crystal D. Harbaugh, 41, of Sarcoxie, that was struck broadside by a westbound car driven by Rissi M. Rhoades, 18, of Van Buren, Ark., when Rhoades failed to stop at a stop sign, the patrol said.

• A 64-year-old man was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 10:28 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot of the Price Cutter store at 1850 S. Maiden Lane, according to a Joplin police report.

William Harris Jr., of Joplin, was taken to Freeman Hospital West, the report said.

Harris was driving a car that collided with a pickup truck driven by Steven E. Pearish, 45, of Sarcoxie, in the parking lot, the report said.
