Bronaugh man hurt in accident on Highway 43

A Bronaugh man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 3:40 p.m. Monday on Missouri Highway 43, north of Bronaugh in Vernon County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Lewis G. Carter, 40, was taken to Nevada Regional Medical Center, the patrol said.

Carter was driving a southbound pickup truck that ran off the road and struck a highway signpost and a culvert before crashing through a fence into a field, the patrol said.

• A resident of Aurora was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 1:30 a.m. Monday on County Road 2240, two miles south of Aurora in Lawrence County, the state patrol said.

Gabriel M. Jarmillo, 18, was flown by medical helicopter to Mercy Hospital Springfield, the patrol said.

He was driving a westbound car that struck an embankment when he failed to stop at a stop sign, the patrol said.

• A resident of Tulsa, Okla., was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 6:30 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 44, two miles east of Joplin in Jasper County, the state patrol said.

Virginia Albizo, 53, was taken by ambulance to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the patrol said.

Albizo was a passenger in a westbound car driven by Janet Guzman, 19, of Tulsa, that ran off the road and struck a dirt embankment, the patrol said.
