Two motorists hurt in traffic accidents

JOPLIN, Mo. —

A Kansas man was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 8:20 a.m. Monday on Missouri Highway 96, a mile west of Oronogo in Jasper County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Curtis P. Zahm, 24, of Columbus, was taken to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the patrol said.

Zahm was driving an eastbound car that collided with a westbound sport utility vehicle driven by Michele L. Callahan, 52, of Carthage, when Callahan pulled into Zahm’s path while making a left turn, the patrol said.

• A Lamar man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 4:30 p.m. Sunday on Route M, four miles south of Jasper in Jasper County, according to the state patrol.

Cory G. Stuckey, 36, was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Joplin, the patrol said.

Stuckey was driving an eastbound car that ran off the road and into a creek, the patrol said. He was found lying on the ground at the scene, the patrol said.
