Suspect caught in July murder in Joplin

JOPLIN, Mo. — Daniel Hartman, a suspect in the Jacob Wages murder investigation, was located Monday in Rolling Fork, Miss., according to a statement issued today by the Joplin Police Department.

An arrest warrant for first-degree murder was issued for Hartman after Wages was found dead in his home at 1912 S. Pearl Ave. on July 6.

The Joplin Police Department requested the help of the U.S. Marshal’s Service in apprehending Hartman after it received a tip that Hartman was in Rolling Fork. The U.S. Marshal’s Service and Mississippi State Police followed up on the tip and Hartman was arrested without incident. He is to be extradited back to Missouri.

A juvenile suspect remains at large.
