Firefighters respond to house blaze



No injuries were reported from a fire Friday morning at a vacant house on South Jackson Avenue, according to a news release from the Joplin Fire Department.

Firefighters responded at 1:20 a.m. to a fire in a two-story vacant house at 916 S. Jackson Ave. Crews had the fire under control by 1:57 a.m. and remained on the scene about two more hours.

The cause of the blaze remained under investigation late in the day.
