Two drivers hurt in cycle, scooter accidents in area



A resident of Nevada, Mo., was injured in a motorcycle accident at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday on Route NN, seven miles northeast of Sheldon in Vernon County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Aaron D. Stukesbary, 39, was taken to Barton County Memorial Hospital in Lamar, the patrol said.

Stukesbary was riding a westbound motorcycle that struck a deer, overturned and skidded off the roadway, the patrol said.

• An 86-year-old man was injured in a scooter accident at 12:48 p.m. Monday at 20th Street and Broadway in Pittsburg, Kan., according to a Pittsburg Police Department report.

John Zogar, of Arma, Kan., was taken by ambulance to Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, police said.

Zogar lost control of the scooter as he was headed south through the intersection, and the vehicle overturned, the report said.
