Pittsburg police make arrests in recent robberies

PITTSBURG, Kan. — Police have detained a juvenile and an adult in connection with recent robberies of a Casey’s General Store and the Dillons Food Store in Pittsburg.

A 14-year-old boy was detained late Thursday afternoon and charged with two counts of aggravated robbery. Police believe he is the gunman who robbed the Casey’s convenience store at 434 W. Fourth St. the night of March 9 and the Dillons grocery store at 2600 North Broadway on Tuesday night.

Officers also took Raul Gonzalez, 18, of Pittsburg, into custody in connection with an investigation of the robberies and charged him with possession of stolen property and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
