Several hay bales burn; deputies say arson case possible



GIRARD, Kan. — An early morning fire that consumed several bales of hay on Friday is being looked into as a possible case of arson, according to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department.

The Brazilton Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies responded to a 3:55 a.m. report of the fire on the property of John Yager near the intersection of 590th Avenue and 80th Street. The sheriff’s office said the fire was suspicious and is being investigated as an arson. Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 620-724-8274, according to authorities.
