Fire destroys vacant home

MIAMI, Okla. — A fire that destroyed an unoccupied home Monday morning in Miami remained under investigation by authorities.

The Miami Fire Department responded to an 8:20 a.m. report of the fire in the 600 block of South Elm Street. Driver Mike Edwards said the single-story house, which had been ruined by prior flooding, was in flames when firefighters arrived.

No injuries were reported. Edwards said the cause of the fire had yet to be determined. The name of the owner of the property was not available.
