Two people suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 2:54 p.m. Tuesday on Missouri Highway 37, a mile south of Cassville in Barry County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The driver, Johnathon M. Larson, 23, of Cassville, was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Cassville. His passenger, Nathen D. Libertus, 22, of Eagle Rock, was flown by medical helicopter to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield.
The patrol said the southbound car ran off the road and overturned.
• A Kansas man was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. Highway 54, three miles east of Walker Corner in Vernon County, the state patrol said.
Jay D. Battenberg, 58, of Shawnee, Kan., was taken by ambulance to Nevada Regional Medical center in Nevada, the patrol said.
Battenberg was driving an eastbound vehicle that collided with an eastbound truck rig driven by Robert A. Teague, 50, of El Dorado Springs, when Battenberg pulled to the side of the road and attempted to make a U-turn in front of the truck, the patrol said.

Joplin mall shopper mugged at gunpoint
Three teenagers are being held on charges that they robbed a woman at gunpoint Wednesday night in the parking lot of Northpark Mall in Joplin. A 60-year-old Webb City resident was getting out of her vehicle about 7:50 p.m. on the southeast side of the mall at 101 N. Range Line Road when a young man came up behind her and demanded her purse. He showed her a gun, and she handed over the purse.
