Several injured in pileup near Frontenac

FRONTENAC, Kan. — A multiple-vehicle accident today north of Frontenac has sent several people to the hospital with injuries, according to the Crawford County sheriff.

Sheriff Dan Peak said there was a four- or five-vehicle accident involving a semi-truck and dump truck about 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of highways 69 and 160 north of Frontenac. Several people were taken to area hospitals with injuries, the sheriff said.

Traffic was being rerouted around the accident scene. The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. The names of the injured have not been released as yet.
