Joplin police: Carl Junction man shot himself at convenience store

JOPLIN, Mo. — Shane Reeves, of Carl Junction, shot himself on Monday, Joplin police say.

Reeves on Monday told police that he was robbed and shot while getting out of his vehicle at Horton’s Pizza Plus and convenience store, 1302 S. Schifferdecker Ave. Police said Reeves had entered the store and asked employees to call 911.

He was initially listed in critical condition after being taken by ambulance to Freeman Hospital West. He has since been upgraded to stable condition.

Joplin police say there was no robbery and that the investigation is continuing.
