Joplin man killed at work site in Arkansas

— A construction worker from Joplin was killed over the weekend at a work site in Fayetteville, Ark., when he came into contact with a power line while suspended in the boom lift of a truck about 25 feet above ground, authorities said.

Jess Wilson, 44, was taken Sunday to Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, where he died of his injuries. A second worker reportedly was treated for injuries at the hospital and released.

The two men were installing siding at an apartment complex under construction on the south side of Fayetteville. It is the second fatal accident at the work site in recent weeks, according to authorities. Another man died in early May when the dirt walls of a pit that he was digging collapsed on him.
