Marijuana, gun seized in raid at Joplin home



Local narcotics officers seized 5 pounds of marijuana and made an arrest when they served a search warrant Thursday afternoon at a home in Joplin.

The warrant was served about 3 p.m. in the 1100 block of South Roosevelt Avenue by officers with the Joplin Police Department and agents of the Jasper County Drug Task Force. Besides the marijuana, a handgun and some drug paraphernalia were seized, police said.

An arrest was made, but no charges had been filed as of Thursday afternoon.
