Two sex offenders face new charges on residency rules

Jasper County sheriff’s deputies arrested a 33-year-old registered sex offender Thursday afternoon on a charge of residing within 1,000 feet of a school in Carterville.

A sheriff’s office statement said Jason L. Buller had been notified that his residence was too close to a school and had been given 30 days to move. When he did not move, he was arrested.

Court records show Buller has a conviction for a misdemeanor count of sexual misconduct in Missouri.

Robert W. Beck, 31, was arrested the previous day in Webb City and charged with living too close to a school as a registered sex offender.
