Neosho man hurt in accident west of Granby

JOPLIN, Mo. —

A Neosho man was injured in a single-car accident Friday on U.S. Highway 60, three miles west of Granby in Newton County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Earl C. Lyons, 76, suffered minor injuries in the accident and was taken by ambulance to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the patrol said.

 Lyons’ car, according to the patrol, traveled off the right side of the road and struck an embankment before catching on fire, the patrol said.

• An Anderson woman was injured in a single-car accident Friday on Route CC, three miles south of McNatt in McDonald County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Lorra D. Brown, 43, suffered minor injuries in the accident and was transported to Mercy Hospital Joplin, the patrol said.

The accident occurred as Brown’s vehicle avoided a collision with another vehicle, overcorrected and traveled off the road, striking a ditch, the patrol said.
