Crews searching for missing Joplin man in Grand Lake

GROVE, Okla. — The search continued Wednesday at Grand Lake in Northeast Oklahoma for a Joplin, Mo., man who was last seen boating on Sunday.

Michael Shane Chapman, 40, was boating on the lake near Grove, authorities said. His boat was recovered Monday near the Sailboat Bridge area.

Officers with the Grand River Dam Authority were using boats and helicopters Wednesday in the search after stormy weather delayed their efforts on Tuesday.

GRDA spokesman Justin Alberty said crews were searching for Chapman by combing a 10-square-mile area from Sailboat Bridge to Patricia Island and the East Bay area.
