Joplin man hurt in traffic accident in Newton County

A Joplin man was injured in a two-car accident at 11:35 a.m. Monday on Missouri Highway 43, four miles south of Joplin in Newton County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Ricky D. Moore, 50, driver of one of the cars, suffered minor injuries. He was taken to Freeman Hospital West, Joplin.

The other driver, Lawrence Jordan, 33, of Seneca, was not injured.

The patrol said the Jordan vehicle, which was going north, stopped to make a left turn and was struck from behind by the Moore car.

• A Cassville woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 6:20 a.m. Monday at Highway 37 and Route W at Butterfield in Barry County, the patrol said.

Kortney C. Wallace, 28, of Exeter, driver of a car, suffered minor injuries. She was taken to Mercy Hospital Cassville.

The other driver, Gaither R. Moore, 55, of Seligman, was not injured.

The patrol said the northbound Moore pickup attempted to make a left turn in the path of the southbound Wallace car.
