Illinois woman hurt in traffic accident in Barton County

— A woman from Illinois was injured in a two-vehicle accident about 12:45 p.m. Tuesday on Missouri Highway 126, five miles west of Golden City in Barton County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Brandi N. Knouse, 21, of Justice, Ill., was taken to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the patrol said.

Knouse was driving a southbound car and failed to stop at a stop sign, resulting in a collision with a westbound car driven by Bonnie S. Hayden, 64, of Golden City, the patrol said.

• A Reeds woman was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday on Elm Road, two miles east of Carthage in Jasper County, the state patrol said.

Rebecca G. Curry, 48, was taken by ambulance to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the patrol said.

Curry was driving an eastbound vehicle that slid off the roadway and struck a metal gate and a wooden post, the patrol said.

• A Joplin man was injured in a three-vehicle accident at 12:02 p.m. Monday at highways 171 and 43 in Airport Drive, according to the patrol.

Clint A. Camden, 40, was taken to Freeman Hospital West.

Camden was driving a westbound vehicle that was struck by an eastbound vehicle driven by Michael L. Volrath, 21, of Joplin, when Volrath lost control of his car while making a turn, the state patrol said. Volrath’s car also struck a second westbound vehicle driven by Raul Soriano-Villegas, 50, of Victorville, Calif., the patrol said.
