Woman accused of shoplifting at Wal-Mart store



Joplin police arrested a suspect in connection with a felony shoplifting incident May 29 at the Wal-Mart store at 2623 W. Seventh St.

Yolanda D. Smith, of Joplin, was arrested Friday night near Eighth Street and Minnesota Avenue, and was charged with felony stealing and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police Cpl. Chuck Niess said Smith is accused of being one of two women who left the Wal-Mart store without paying for a television set, a pair of pants and some toilet paper with a combined value of $502.97.
