Store robbery subject of probe by Joplin police

Police say a man who robbed the Snak-Atak convenience store at 4302 S. Hearnes Blvd. in Joplin on Saturday night was wearing a white paintball mask.

The robber entered the store about 7:30 p.m., displayed a handgun and demanded money from a clerk, according to police Lt. Charla Geller. He ran with an undisclosed amount of cash taken from the store’s cash register.

Geller said the robber was wearing a work coat with a hood pulled up and the mask covering his face. She said he is believed to have run in a southerly direction. She said investigators were reviewing video surveillance footage, but no images of the robber had been made public by late Monday afternoon.
