Webb City woman arrested in case of theft, assault

Joplin police arrested a 21-year-old Webb City woman Tuesday night in connection with a shoplifting incident Sunday at Northpark Mall in Joplin.

Shauna N. Montgomery, who was charged with first-degree robbery, is accused of pulling a knife on a female store employee who tried to stop her from leaving the J.C. Penney store without paying for almost $200 worth of clothes.

The suspect allegedly threatened to stab the store employee in the parking lot of the mall before leaving in a black vehicle.
