Two motorists hurt in accident north of Webb City

— Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 11:55 a.m. Monday on Route D, one mile north of Webb City in Jasper County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

One of the drivers involved, Cordellia M. Hardee, 18, of Independence, Kan., was taken by ambulance to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the state patrol said. An occupant in the other vehicle, Amy Martin, 45, of Oronogo, planned to seek medical treatment on her own, the patrol said.

Hardee was driving a southbound car and made a left turn in front of a northbound pickup truck driven by Perry G. Martin, 48, of Oronogo, and the two vehicles collided, the patrol said.

• A Pierce City man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 8:30 a.m. Monday on Missouri Highway 97, seven miles southwest of Monett in Barry County, the state patrol said.

Arthur E. Schroeder, 62, was taken to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, the patrol said.

Schroeder was driving a southbound pickup truck that ran off the road, struck a sign and overturned, the patrol said.
